It was on April 30, 1986 that the technology transfer contract was signed in NEOPLAN Corporation in Germany.

On December 14 of the next year, the first 10 NORTH NEOPLAN buses were driven off the assembly line and then delivered to China’s General Administration of Customs. Former Prime Minister of the State Council Yao Yilin cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony of this great event
The 1st troop of luxury buses produced at home set foot in Chinese market formally.

NORTH NEOPLAN buses, together with TV relaying vehicles developed by NORTH people on their own were delivered to the organizing committee of the 11th Asian Games on September 10, 1990, when national leaders e.g. Zhou Jiahua and Zhang Baifa attended the opening ceremony and cut the ribbon. It was since this occasion that NORTH NEOPLAN began participating in great international sports events in China. |
On June 11, 1991, National Tourism Administration and China Automobile Company joined forces in investigating 18 bus manufacturers, only 4 of which were later chosen to provide the first buses for tourism departments, including “NORTH” that was recognized as the best among all the candidates. |
In December 1995, “NORTH” bus was among the first luxury buses to take part in the passenger transport on the freeway between Chengdu and Chongqing, which marked its success in entering this booming industry.
In December 1995, the first sleeping bus independently developed by “NORTH” people was seen off the assembly line and then launched into the market in Wenzhou. Now “NORTH” sleeping buses have become moving beautiful sceneries on all national highways.

On July 1, 1997, nine NORTH buses followed the PLA garrison and entered Hongkong. On December 20, 1999, NORTH buses were witnessed again into Macao. Therefore, NORTH NEOPLAN has made its contribution to our country’s reunification.
On December 24, 1997, former General Secretary, the Central Committee of CPC (CCCPC) and National President Jiang Zemin came to our company for a visit, accompanied by Jia Qinglin, member of Political Bureau of the CCCPC, Party Secretary and Mayor of Beijing and Zeng Qinghong, alternate member of the CCCPC, member of secretariat of the CCCPC and Director of General Office, CCCPC as well as Zhang Junjiu, General Manager of China Weapon Industry Corporation. During this visit, Secretary General Jiang wrote down the following words: “ Carrying forward the fine tradition of old military industry and embracing a new future of North bus”.
